A fitted, classically cut shirt, which I've made in silk and cotton. It's a neat fit - I made a size bigger than my measurements indicated and have been very glad I did. This pattern has now been discontinued as an envelope pattern but is available as a download from Burda Style, where it is known as Emily #8153.

Five years later, I have revisited this pattern and made a fifth version in Liberty of London's Maurice, a design from 2009 in black and grey. I made a few minor fitting alterations: adding ease equal to another size at the front sizes (only); sloping the shoulder seams downwards by 2cm and scooping out the sleeve and armhole by the same amount to compensate; and lengthening the body and sleeves each by 2cm. The result is an excellent fit.
