This pattern for straightforward, classic pyjamas dates from 1990 and is out of print. First I the pyjama top and pants separately, in different fabrics: the pants in a pale mauve cotton poplin from Sewzanne's Fabrics, and the top in an orange hibiscus print Hawaiian poplin to match pyjama pants made with another pattern. Then I acquired more of the orange fabric and made a matching top.
The pants of this pattern are a generous fit and are the most comfortable pyjama pants I have made. The top is also a generous cut but not excessively so, and the sleeves are comfortably long.
I have also made these pyjamas in a winter version, using Liberty of London's Jubilee, an 80-20 blend of cotton and wool, and flower-shaped pearl buttons.
Now I have used this pattern again to make a summer dressing gown. My fabric is a cotton poplin island scene called "Tropical Tradewinds" by Hoffman purchased from Hart's Fabrics. The cut of the gown is loose in the shoulders, the same as the pyjama top, but straight up and down through the body. It is nevertheless loose enough to be comfortable, although I would not recommend it for a distinctly pear-shaped figure.
