This pattern for an African-inspired caftan was published in 1994 and is long out of print, although copies may be found online. If made in a more attractive fabric, something suitably bold and colourful, this can be a wonderful loose-fitting and flowing garment for relaxed, hot weather wear. It is quite easy to make and takes about 3.3 metres or 3 1/2 yards of fabric. My fabric came from Barkcloth Hawaii and is now out of stock.
