Our favourite place to be in Selous was on the water. The camp is located on the shore of the crocodile filled Rufiji River.
Being in a boat allows for some interesting viewing. We did not trail our fingers in the water.

The small boat also enabled us to get very close to some less menacing wildlife along the shore.

The river is also home to large numbers of hippos.

Seeing how much we loved being on the water, the boat operator offered to take us to the airstrip on our last day instead of us going in a 4WD. We saw many more hippo eyes as the boat made its way down the river, and as we neared the airstrip we came across this scene -- it was another great moment.
