This giant tree (check the figure at the base) was in the Kyoto train station. The number of light combinations/patterns was truly amazing.

These blossoms appear on Pohutukawa trees in New Zealand for three weeks. The breathtaking display signals the end of the school year along with the coming of Christmas and the beginning of summer.

Decorations in Auckland seem quite low key compared to North America. Most of the season's colour is provided by the blossoms in the earlier photo and the abundance of flowers such as these birds of paradise.
