Brihadeeswara Temple, Tanjore

I was very impressed by the temple at Brihadeeswara Temple at Tanjore (AKA Thanjavur). Normally I prefer ruined temples to living ones, but this had a tranquil air about it that I loved - it helped that the sun was shining too. The courtyard is huge, and the temples are exquisitely decorated. It was a great place to people-watch too, with woman wrapped in shimmering saris and bare-chested pilgrims wandering around.
