Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh is renowned worldwide for its temples - mostly due to the nature of the carvings, many of which have an erotic theme. Sauciness aside, the quality of the carvings on the 25 remaining temples is superb, and puts Khajuraho up there with some of the world's most famous temple complexes, such as in Ankor Wat in Cambodia and Bagan in Myanmar. It well deserves its World Heritage status.
