Orchha

I enjoyed my time in Orchha a lot, exploring the ruin-strewn land. I treated myself and stayed at the Sheesh Mahal, where I had a commanding view over the palace grounds and beyond. Happy days.

I visited lovely Orchha in 1998. The Sheesh Mahal was practically the only accomodation option then. Orchha's rural, off-the-beaten track setting and the tranquil Betwa river are what have stuck in my mind.
