The Külliye is located in the Ismail Bey district which takes its name from it’s the mosque. It is placed above the rock cut graves from the 7th century C.E. called the Şahinşah Rock. It was built by the last ruler of Candarogullari Beylik. This Külliye is one the finest examples of the Beylik period in Kastamonu which consists of a mosque, tombs, han, Turkish bath house, madrasa, and a library. During its time functioned as the center of commerce and science in Kastamonu is now restored by the Governorship to serve as a tourist attraction.
