This tour was my second trip to Budapest. After the first visit, Heroes' Square (photo 1 - 11) was the the most impressive landmark. Now years later, after the second visit, it still is. Right after receivinig my luggage, even without any local money in my pocket, I walked 45 minutes to the square with my camera. The mild April late afternoon sun was still shining on the statues - the founder of the Nation Prince Arpad and the chieftains of 7 Hungarian tribes, with some white clouds decorating the lower part of the blue sky. I told myself that anything else I could photograph with the whole group the next day would be just a bonus.

Heroes' Square is surrounded by other points of interest, including the Vajdahunyad Castle (photo 12 - 18), Palace of Art (20 - 22), across from which is the Museum of Fine Arts (the building on the left in photo 11). Even the City Park behind the square also has some nice architecture to offer (photo 19).

On this trip I had the opportunately to enter the gorgeous Parliament (photo 31 - 42), which was voted by many as the most beautiful parliament in the world. The interior, though the tourists are allowed to see a few halls, is just as beautiful as the exterior. The Holy Crown of Hungary (photo 39) is in display with a few soldiers guarding around it.

While the St. Stephen's Basilica (63 - 68) is as magnificent as many Roman Catholic Churches I have seen in Europe, the Synagogue in Budapest (photo 46 - 54) was a great surprise. Its beautiful design is really something I had never expected.
