As most of my trips are short, this time I spent a weekend in Los Angeles, to visit many good friends of mine and to take pictures. After receiving some encouraging comments on my album "San Francisco Revisited", I felt a little pressured because I didn't want to disappoint my friends in L.A..

Before I went, the local weather forecast predicted 70% chance rain. Yes, it poured, but only before I arrived and on my departure. During my precious two days there the weather turned out to be cooperative, especially the first day. I was spoiled by my friends throughout my stay. I had a memorable dinner gathering with a big group, and a relaxing stroll on Manhattan Beach with two old friends Grace & Miranda, and spent the rest of the time sightseeing with Maureen, Anthony and Danny. They planned the itinerary and accompanied me everywhere. Maureen had done a lot of research for me and even explored places by herself looking for scenic spots. Everywhere they took me to was impressive. The beautiful sceneries and the artistic architecture are just exquisite.

I requested to spare a little time for the Hsi Lai Temple where I stopped by years ago, for I'd like to add some oriental colours to my album. After the temple, an hour later I entered the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. I have been to quite a few famous basilicas in Europe, but the design of this one is so extraordinary and unique that I was stunned when I saw it. You don't even have to be Catholic to find yourself drawn to this exceptional church.

The City of Angels, sure I will return.
