SCOTT'S ORIOLE

Icterus parisorum

PA STATE RECORD FIRST SIGHTING

This bird was first reported on February 20, 2007, having been sighted at a backyard feeder
by the home owner on Kent Drive in Mechanicsburg, PA. The Scott's Oriole is a state record
for Pennsylvania and is normally seen in South Western United States.

On a cold and windy Friday morning, February 23rd, I and a few other birders were treated to it's visit about 10 AM.
It seemed to be feeding at different yards in the area. What a beautiful bird, well worth the hour's wait.
