This sculpture of Oscar Wilde, by the artist Danny Osborne, can be found on the northern side of Merrion Square in south central Dublin city. The sculpture dates back to 1991, is a stone polychrome figure whose face and hands have been worked in porcelain. The statue rests on a base of rocky quartz. Adjacent to it are two bronze figures resting on black plinths that contain inscriptions in white of some of the more famous quotable quotes from Wilde’s work. The figurines are said to represent Dionysius and Wilde’s wife.
