OK OK point taken. New bulbs were purchased, fitted, but the light was still out. Doh! Why don't these things ever work out like in the manual. So, out with the voltmeter gizmo and after a few minutes testing, the fault was traced to a loose connector in the engine bay. Now fixed. In the process, another fault found and fixed (a blown tail light bulb on the other side) and just to show off, I've twiddled with those great big Dellorto carborthingies so the engine idles at a sensible and almost discreet 1000rpm instead of the rather noisy and attention grabbing 1800 rpm.
All this while the local garage are fixing 10,000 worth of wear and tear on the vectra-mobile.
It's good when things are all fixed.
BTW this photo is not a straight forward as it looks. Two exposures (sorry Gary) blended in PS with a layer mask.
