30 Jun: Fixed

Friday - "You've got a brake light out" said Gary
Today - "You've got a brake light out" said Linda

OK OK point taken. New bulbs were purchased, fitted, but the light was still out. Doh! Why don't these things ever work out like in the manual. So, out with the voltmeter gizmo and after a few minutes testing, the fault was traced to a loose connector in the engine bay. Now fixed. In the process, another fault found and fixed (a blown tail light bulb on the other side) and just to show off, I've twiddled with those great big Dellorto carborthingies so the engine idles at a sensible and almost discreet 1000rpm instead of the rather noisy and attention grabbing 1800 rpm.

All this while the local garage are fixing 10,000 worth of wear and tear on the vectra-mobile.

It's good when things are all fixed.

BTW this photo is not a straight forward as it looks. Two exposures (sorry Gary) blended in PS with a layer mask.

Great job with the handling of the exposure!

At least you did not have to strip half of the car like I did the other day for chasing a tiny little broken bulb :-)
Your photo is excellent and bearing the DM trademark all over.

Er, yeah, sorry. Thanks to Linda. Without her foot on the brake pedal, this photograph would not have been possible...

All 'Double-Dutch' to me, but I like the picture all the same :-) My dad had a Beetle for years and I loved all the little details on it.
Linda Alstead30-Jun-2004 20:26
How about a credit for the foot on the brake?
