Bygone Festival - Luang Prabang

This image evokes a contradiction I felt in much that I saw. Here are tattered pennants from a past festival. Caught in this image is the sense of the tattered, which was very prevalent in this poor country. Yet - I project that they were for a festival - for a joyous time and there was very much a sense of that joy and delight in much of what I saw.
