GALLERY ::Impressions of Laos and Thailand —a collection of galleries—

I recently had the privilege of visiting Laos and Thailand. This was my first trip to Asia and it was quite eye-opening and thought provoking. These galleries are impressions, the disparate elements that together create the "feel" of what I experienced. There are three galleries here. "Laos and Thailand - 2005" - "Monks - 2005" - and "Asian Tim-esques." The "Tim-esque" gallery was inspired by the fact that the people on the trip kept referring me to "Tim shots." I will explain more about this in the "Tim-esque" gallery. I will have an extensive companion gallery at WorldisRound which will be more of a travel essay.

Tim, these are so unique and artfully done. That orange! WOW! I admire your eye for color and composition but especially for the beauty and humor in the unexpected as in Monk Laundry and Rewrapping. I think that my favorite is Waterfall Swim 2, but it's so hard to choose. Night market took me right into the musical Miss Saigon, although I know. . .wrong country. I'm so impressed and inspired.

I really liked the monks in the rain photo; the content is exquisitely captured. What a surprise to discover my former teacher is such an incredible photographer! I'm just starting to get interested in this art form, too. Kathleen Martinelli
