The 16 bamboo pipes are standard nowadays, there are also models with less or more pipes, but the one with 16 tones are the most common. Sometimes the pipes of the opposite site are also tuned in a fifth according to the neighbouring tone.

Es gibt viele verschiedene Größen der Khene, wobei jedoch diese von einem Meter Länge mit 16 Rohren die gebräuchlichste ist. Es erklingen immer nur die Rohre, deren Loch ein Finger der Hand verschließt.
