I've had my camera for more than 2 years now and it's working just fine. It does have a few limitations: The optical viewfinder is too small.

Colour accuracy: good to excellent...greens are a bit over-saturated, flesh tones are biased to red instead of yellow. whites are very good with excellent detail.

Colour fringing at extreme telephoto setting.

Video quality is good with excellent sound.

Next camera will possibly the FZ 18

For $599, this is an unbelievable camera for an aspiring amateur or blooming professional. I was looking for something better than the average point and shoot but not as complicated as the digital SLR’s. I wanted a nice optical zoom, not just some 3x optical with 4x digital.

I researched camera after camera for over a month. I looked at basically every camera out there including the newest and higher end cameras such as the Canon Powershot G6, Canon Powershot Pro1, Canon Digital Rebel SLR, Kodak DX7590, Nikon 8700, Olympus C-8080 ...

. . . . . . . .

I didn't think anything would make me forget my Canon G3... while that was a great camera, and I do miss it, My FZ20 has been a wonderful replacement.

I've had my FZ20 since May and it's one fantastic instrument, so easy to use. Nothing else come close to matching it's image quality

Since 25 years I used Nikon and Canon SRL,the last one was the EOS 1N with serie L lens.Last year I don't want to buy a digital SRL because it's too expensive,so I bought the Panasonic FZ20 and I 've just come back from a safari in Tanzania( are sharp for a 5 mpx and colors natural. The very good thing is the anti-shake system and the bad thing is too much noise.

I bought a Panasonic FZ20 some weeks ago. After some tests, I can say it's an excellent camera. What I like most is the 12x optical zoom. Here's a example:

After much angst and research as to what to buy, I just bought a Panasonic FZ20,. It feels good, and seems pretty intuitive. I like the 12x focus, and didn’t’ want to get into a SLR at this point in my financial insecurity! I haven't given it a real "good test drive" yet, but plan to within the next few weeks at SF Pride!

I "resorted" to FZ20 two weeks ago, and it seems to really a good camera and satisfies my. I recooment it to all keen photographers.

Excellent camera with full range of features. Photo quality is great too, helped by Leica lense on the front and a huge 12x optical zoom! Mmm! I want one of these!
A great allround camera suited to any situation, and very portable as well.
