Thanks everyone. In this shot, there are some star-trails visible. This was just after the sun set but as there was still enough sunlight to create a purple look to the sky and make some of the wispy clouds light up some. In the full-size version of this, a lot of the stars are visible, but in this resized version, I only see a few of the very bright ones.

The moon was about a half or less full, but through the clouds, and overexposed, it made a circular image. This may be just an artifact from the lens aperture. I had shot using a variety of exposures here, and the less exposed ones show the moon's "real" shape.

This is a 100% crop from one of the other shots.

I kind of wanted the more crescent look but I couldn't think of any way to blend in one of these other exposures and make the colors match up properly. And in the end, I kind of liked the round and larger look that it took on.

And technically, this probably should be called "Moonset" and not moonrise, but I just thought it sounded better ;-) Jim H.

Beautiful shot, Jim. Gee, I don't think we had a full moon here on the 27, seems like we hardly had a sliver. Did you have one there? It sure looks full, is that a composite? Warm fuzzies, -mikey

You are, as always, putting that 10-22mm to excellent use, Jim. This is beautiful. Regards ~jnconradie
