Life atop the Lucca Wall - Lucca Photos 2

Day 2 there.   Life in Lucca and at its famous very wide wall around the Old city.
  The wall is so wide that the top of it is actually a walkway and park, where most seem to be on bicycles.  Our hotel offered free bicycles, in fact.  A very relaxing place.  All of Tuscany seems like that.

  These are mainly pictures of scenes involving people enjoying the place, except that here there were more locals than tourists, for once.

  This is, more or less, a typical day on Lucca's wall.  Also included are some photos of the canal in the center of the Old City. Errands in that area are mostly done via bicycles. Cars are discouraged.

  While in Lucca, we also visited Carrara's marble quarries (next gallery).

marble mountains. There are tours from there.

What amazing photos of Lucca! I'm taking my mother to Italy in September and she is fascinated with Lucca...now i can see why.

We did not get to enjoy this pretty park on the walls of Lucca, nice to see what it is like.
This is a slow traveller's gallery for certain. Good to see the ordinary life of a pretty city.
