Matsuyama 松山

Capital of Ehime Prefecture and the largest city in Shikoku, Matsuyama is a charming old castle town celebrated for its intact feudal-era fortress and the historic hot spring resort at Dōgō Onsen. Home to seven of the 88 temples of Shikoku's pilgrimage circuit, it has long been a stopping point for travelers eager to relax and take in the cosmopolitan air.
