Really enjoyed touring through this gallery. Almost despite the grunge and bold colours, there's a subtle grace here that builds up across the images and creates a deep sense of place.
Fascinating urban study. You have quite the unique eye.
Excellent work.I like.V

Great comps, Niall
I'll be back!
Excellent works Niall.
I'm from Ancoats Niall. The Northern Quarter to us natives does not exist, it's known as something quite different.
Mind you northern quarter has a nice ring to it, and you can't ask 200K for a pad in paki town. Not saying i agree with it, but that's how it has always been known.
But it is Ancoats/new cross
I'd dipped in here and there before but have just looked right the way through for the first time. Top draw; a great array of colour, street art, faded old signs, interesting textures and more. I think you sum it up best with the phrase 'elegent decay'. I got a great sense of what it must be like to walk around...one big picture built up by many smaller ones.
Love the mix of shots here. Really gives a sense of the location. Great bold colors.
very beautifull selection.great gallery .really interesting shots.V.

Interesting photos of the "Northern Quarter".
A gallery with a great impact, superb and dramatic dark moods, emotion and the beauty of the ugly, excellent work !
Interesting galley - thanks. I've been to Manchester, all to briefly, and I didn't bring my photographer's eye with me.
not an area where i want to live, but as source for photos it worked great
One of the most interesting galleries on pBase, from my personal point of view.
This is a great gallery Niall - full of striking photo's. Good work!
Compliments for the idea! A piece of history we studied at school, the Industrial Revolution has been here.
Thanks for sharing.
