Antwerp was the home of the artist Peter Paul Rubens. It seems like every church in the city has at least a few Rubens paintings hanging on their walls; the cathedral is no exception.
The two towers on the west end were originally supposed to be the same height, but they ran out of money in the 1400's and never finished the second one. Even by itself, the first tower is a spectacular example of Gothic architecture.
