This privately owned chateau lies just outside Maastricht, barely across the border into Belgium. It's near the village of Kanne, hence the name (I guess). The gardens are open to the public; the owner of the chateau uses the gardens to showcase the work of local artists from galleries in Maastricht.
Just to make an addition: Chateau Neercanne is a very nice restaurant (one Michelin star) which grows its own wine. Most castles in the south of Limburg are in use as restaurants and hotels.
