20090201 - Teapot

For: Four Colour February

Well, it's 'blue'! Not sure I'm going to be able to cope with this challenge... and that's after only 1 day! lol

What I am chuffed with is the puff of 'steam', which is a bit of flare from the flash. It was coming out a bit 'gridded' due to the diamond-pattern of the lens of the flash-head, so I put a bit of paper tissue over it, you can sort of see the texture of that in it now.

Canon EOS 5D ,Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/200s f/2.8 at 100.0mm iso100 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

does it make a blue tea??? :-)
Nancy Good03-Feb-2009 21:44
No need to be "chuffed" about the steam ... it's fantastic!! Love the depth of blue in this shot, too. :-)

If it's proving hard, you better go off and buy some blue paint!
J. Scott Coile02-Feb-2009 18:37
...short and stout... here is my handle, here is my spout :-)

Nice shot -- simple colours, and very nice use of depth of field. Well conceived (and you can even re-use it next week for "red" ;) ).
Guest 02-Feb-2009 15:55
I really like the combination of colours here with the red, blue and white!
Barbara Heide02-Feb-2009 10:00

Lovely shade of blue. I have a blue teapot I was eyeing up earlier today as a possible subject for later in the week...

A very british blue !
Dennis Warren01-Feb-2009 18:21
I'm a little intimidated too. Blue isn't to bad, red is ok but the yellow and green will be another story for me.
Máire Uí Mhaicín01-Feb-2009 18:04
That little textured puff of steam looks like a ghostly mini-golfball!
