The Wrong Reason to Buy Wine

There are people who buy wine because of the grape, the vineyard, the vintage. I have to admit that I sometimes buy it simply because I like the label. Okay, if it's chardonnay I won't buy it no matter how pretty the label, but almost anything else I will risk, once I can afford it. This wine probably didn't taste just quite as good as the label looked but that would have been near impossible.
I've also put together a gallery of my favourite images from 2011

That is a nice label. Do you save them before recycling the bottles? They would make a nice scrapbook. Very nicely shot!

The label is beautiful and the warm candlelight enhances the attractiveness. V

It is a lovely label - but Autumn is sooo last-season :o))

there may be a co-relation between the taste exhibited in the label and that of the wine...the mention of Tuscany is persuasive too...at least an eye for the artwork keeps you trying new vintages..V

You must have the image in mind when you buy the bottle!!
It makes an excellent still life.

I'm convinced a lot of the talk about wine is, well this is a family channel. ! By the second glass, who knows or cares. I agree about chardonnay, although if you can find an unoaked offering it can be acceptable. A good pinot or sauvignon blanc is hard to beat.
IGT implies its a local blend of leftover wine that doesn't make the first rate offerings. So the sales effort is put into making the label attractive. Which your photo has achieved - you should chase a second career in product shooting.

And looks even better by candlelight; it creates a very romantic atmosphere. Certainly the label will always look better to me since I can't stand the taste of alcohol. Actually it'll probably taste better too...
Good use of the props and backdrop as well.

It does look good, of course it is set off very nicely with the candles.

It is one pretty label though, I like a drop of wine myself.
But you got a fantastic shot for the price also.V.
Your little story for buying the wine made me smile, nice one.
