Went on a bit of a mystery tour through South Armagh this afternoon.
Seeing a sign for a castle, I turned down a small country lane and
soon came to Moyry Castle. Built in 1601, it stands in a strategic
location overlooking The Gap of the North. Some families
were there with their children, rolling Easter Eggs down the hill.
We left and followed another sign for 'Kilnasaggart Standing Stone', an
old stone with inscriptions in Ogham or ancient Irish writing, but turned
back when confronted by a field of cows. Maybe next time.....
