These are 'In camera' B&W ~ Some of them I used a red #25 glass filter, some I didn't. I added some contrast in Photo Shop since I always shoot with it low.

I couldn't help thinking about those who passed through here so long ago, when it was a TB sanitarium
I saw the water tower up on the hill with it's microwave and cell phone relays and I thought of the hundreds of conversations going on in the air where I couldn't hear them
Some say this place is haunted, maybe time is like that tower with it's relays and conversations...maybe we just aren't a part of it once it's passed...but maybe it's still there.

It is facinating to think of the asylum/sanitarium style of treatment and the atrocities and anguish that must have been endured in those places. Makes for great horror flick fodder. I would love to read a non-fiction piece on extreme cases.

Back in those days, presumably the first half of the 20-th century, a stay in one of these institutions was hell on earth.

Some very nice images form a rather haunting area. I've been meaning to get up there myself some time. Very well done in b&w. Helps convey the hopelessness of the place.
