This is a wonderful old lichen-encrusted cedar tree seen thru just a part of the rain spattered third-floor window. The cedar and the distortions on the glass from the rain pleasantly blocked the rest of the neighborhood, giving the room a private and forested feel despite the location in the heart of the village.
This image is in response to the Thursday Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge. The challenge for May 1st, 2008, is "View from a Window." Conveniently, I have been playing with view distortions on rain covered windows this week, and with the effects of light softened by the rain.
