1964

For the Thursday challenge The Sixties.
No hippies around my town then. Backcombed hair, 3 and a half inch stilletoe shoes and tight skirts.
I was married and in Australia 4 years larer.

I remember that hairdo, we used to have to queue for ages in line and the hairdressers were kept so busy! Fabulous shot of you Sheila!

Cindi Smith12-Dec-2008 00:07
Oh yes....I remember those styles....Mom had one. I was just a kid in the 60's.....so no poofy hair for me until the 70's came and went!
CreativeWiseGal12-Dec-2008 00:01
Oh my mother had the same hairstyle! And on a bad day, it was easily replaced with a wig :-)
Máire Uí Mhaicín11-Dec-2008 23:29
You look stunning Sheila! I remember those hairstyles too. I'm not sure how our hair survived that backcombing!

About the time those long haired moptops, The Beatles, made the scene
and started the musical revolution that spurred all that drug use and promiscuity.
