Green Wood-hoopoe

(phoeniculus purpureus)
The Green Wood-hoopoe (or Red-billed Wood-hoopoe) is the most widespread of the African wood-hoopoes being found in a wide variety of woodland, thickets and forest edges. It is often found in noisy chattering groups. These photographs were taken at Shakawe Lodge.
