you must have done good for her to give you something so very cool . . . pieces a foot tall . . .wow

What a wonderful chess set, and fabulous shot!

The angle and use of DoF really makes this shot. Nicely done!
Enjoy the set.

I wonder, if that beats a Queen?
Hodero09-May-2008 07:07
looks like the kings are camera-shy ;-)
Dan Chusid09-May-2008 06:14

As far as I can tell, they're Italian made, hand carved and painted
and probably circa 1960-something. Anyone got any more clues?

Phillip Normanton08-May-2008 20:39
They look a little mean, grand shot tho :)
wernere0108-May-2008 19:14
It doesn´t make happy automatically to be a king. They seem to have a lot of problems. Great shot.
Guest 08-May-2008 19:10
They look like two pieces of craftmanship. I like how the dof makes the subjects stand out vividly.
Mairéad08-May-2008 19:06

beautiful treasures!
Dave Hein08-May-2008 08:44
Eventually you'll have to post a shot of it all set up with something for reference scale. I watched a group of older men in Zurich one time play outdoor chess with 1'-2' tall wooden pieces on a large concrete "board". It puts a different spin on the game.
Piet & Elsabé Enslin08-May-2008 08:02
