Feb 21: Cross border shoot

As you may have seen here and here, today we met up with Ray Pettit just down the road where 3 counties meet.

First, Ray shot me in Hampshire from his home county of Surrey, Then Linda got Ray next to the Surrey sign just across the road. A few steps later, this is Linda next to the Berkshire sign, the county where we live, photographed from Hampshire, the county where I was born. Lots of fun, especially as this is all on a very busy road junction. We were getting some odd looks from people in passing cars!

I've never actually met in person anyone I've met on-line before, but we all got along straight off, and had a great day, a good lunch followed by a walk in the woods with the dogs, and I'm sure we'll all meet up again soon.

BTW - to those in the US... Berkshire is pronounced bark-sheer around these parts - something to do with the gradual shifting vowel sounds that happened many years ago. And the 'Royal County' but refers to the fact that the Queen lives here too!

Those of us with a slightly 'Northern' twang would pronounce it 'Barkshur'!!!
...and I thought the reason it was called 'Royal Berkshire' was because you and my Big Sis live there!!! Of course, that would make me a princess too, so I would live in Royal Hertfordshire, which it certainly isn't!!
Lovely set of photos, and it sounds like you had a brilliant day! My nearest Pbase person must be Chris Brooker, who is only 15 minutes away. It would be interesting to have a 'PaD Union' where everyone got together... if that was on the cards maybe I would take the plunge and commit to taking my camera everywhere!

Hi LInda! Nice shot! So glad you all had fun, and spent the day "gassing" (as Ray says!) I look forward to having a quiche made by Linda someday!!

she does, but the bit where she lives is a bit posher than our bit!
