I lived in the Continental Palace in 1962, my balcony overlooking the Opera House and open square. I remember the Opera House as being the General Assembly building--so much for memory! Nice to see my hotel again only 4 years later.

It's amazing this square hasn't change much other than modernization of the buildings and park. The Opera House is beautiful at night. We had drinks at the Caravelle Hotel back in 2007 with the similar view. http://www.pbase.com/longbachnguyen/image/147879522

Very cool! 1967...a lifetime ago! We stayed at the historic Continental when we visited VN in 2002. The scene was the same, except the streets were totally congested by bicycles! Thanks for posting this, Tom.
