It is flawed image, Suzy -- yet those flaws partially create both interest and meaning. The sun has diffused detail in the lamps, blurring them. They seem both ghostly and mournful. The scaffolding on the dome of the church echoes there thrust, as does the famous winged lion on the distant column. However, the odd black clump below the lamps and the soft black points below the lion seem accidental, do not enhance meaning, and may well distract from it.
