Parasphaerocera sp. (Sphaeroceridae: Sphaerocerinae)

Tiputini Forest Reserve, Prov. Orellana, Ecuador

The Sphaerocerinae is a subfamily of robust sphaerocerids, including one species (Sphaerocera curvipes) found worldwide in cattle pastures. This individual on a bromeliad leaf is a species of Parasphaerocera, one of several common Neotropical genera.
