Tiputini Biodiversity Station (2011)

The Tiputini Biodiversity Station was established in 1994 as a collaboration of the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and Boston University [1]. It is located in the Napo Province of southeastern Ecuador, along the bank of the Tiputini River just across from the boundary of Yasuní National Park. The species richness of the Napo rainforest places it among the world's greatest biodiversity hotspots.

In this sequel to my 2009 visit to Yasuní National Park, ten days were filled with observing and photographing insects in the rainforest understorey and canopy. As with the Yasuní galleries, the galleries below present a small portion of the myriad organisms I encountered.
