What trip to Death Valley National Park would be complete without stopping by to see the old Borax Mining Facility. Borax ( http://mineral.galleries.com/minerals/carbonat/borax/borax.htm ) is a fungicide that was mined using predominatly asian workers in extreme heat. The mined borax was loaded into giant wagons like the one pictured here and then hauled using "20 Mule Teams".
