Havasu Falls : Week 12

Havasu Falls

This is the last image of the season. This image, a panoramic taken from below Havasu Falls, was created with a different perspective. All images in the west, are at this point, cliche in many regards. It is up to the photographer to try and find a new and unique perspective to show a particular scene. In this case, I went down below the falls and decided to not make the falls the primary subject, but the middle ground the subject. I use the background to draw the eye into the rest of the image breaking a "rule of composition". This is always fun, but risky, to do.

I think it worked on this one.

I like this image also. I believe the composition works because you have cut it in half with the green foliage and blue water. Then you have balanced the right with the left by carrying a bit of the falls to the opposit side of the picture. Neat

Brilliant job breaking the rules on this one, and definitely worth large printing. Enjoy. [Ran across this after seeing a post of yours on dpreview.]
