Bare with me over the next while. I'm practicing mastering a new technique, panning at a very slow shutter speed to show lots of motion blur. I have a long ways to go before mastering this I think.

Very nice.
But that should be "bear", not "bare"... unless, of course, you're referring to more images like your photo from the 20th of this month... ;-)

Maybe you need a tiger, or a cougar, for the right effect LOL. Darn fast looking quail, though........Seriously, it looks like you will master this pretty fast to me. Once you have the correct combination of panning speed and shutter speed, you will have it for good.

I can tell it is a Quail, my first several try's you could not tell what I was shooting.
