Hawk Launch 10_25_05.jpg

Boy, some days nothing goes right. Today was one of those days for me and my photography. I had originally planned to go to a strange little place in Eastern Utah. A magical place, a place of mystery and beauty. It is a place I have only seen in one fine art photo. This is a place well off the beaten path. For sure it is place you don't want to go if there is a chance of rain. The roads can be totally impassable if wet. I got up and the sky was cloudy. Rain was in the forecast.

That was a minor disappointment. Of course with those cloudy skies I changed my plans to wildlife photography. Well as you can see in this photo the skies cleared. Light was pretty tough and contrasty.

On this picture I had the camera in the wrong focus mode...so nothing was really in focus. It is reasonably sharp but not great.

I guess every so often you just need to have one of "those days". Now I have it out of the way...but heck I have four 10 hour days at work.

Maybe I'll get to that special place next week.

Here is a Pronghorn pic from today. He was a small buck with one deformed horn...fitting for today http://www.pbase.com/slowpokebill/image/51292848

I have admired your work for quite sometime now, and I just have to comment that if I was able to get a shot like this I would be overjoyed!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!
