Wanda and I spent the evening back out on the marsh. We're after one very super rare specific bird that we saw on Saturday and again tonight. Both times I haven't managed to capture an image of this bird...sorry, until I get this guy decently in my lens I'm not telling you what type of bird he is.

Anyway, on to the northern harrier / marsh hawk. I love to watch these birds hunt. They just skim a few feet over the tops of the reeds looking for a meal. Talk about testing the auto focus on the 20D to its limits. Fading light, all brown and low contrast is a workout for the focus system. I'm feeling good about getting this guy in focus at 200 plus yards. A 600mm 1/125sec panning shot and it worked...not bad.
