This view is from the Pointe, a very popular hangout for teenagers better known as lover's lane. Behind it is Joe's Crab Shack, the only restaurant at West End that was not washed away during Katrina.
For years the lighthouse served as a beacon to boaters coming into the Yatch Harbor.
