A Christmas Visit - Norman and Me

Laura Plantation

I wonder what we were discussing; possibly the sweetness of the satsuma that I am eating which he plucked from the tree for me. (Similar to a mandarin)
Norman is the Manager/Overseer of Laura Plantation. We have been friends for several decades and it is always delightful to discuss genealogy and historical information with him.
Laura was owned by the Waguespack Family when a group of preservationists and historians pooled their money and bought it.

Found out about Orange Grove, at Braithwait. It was destroyed in 1980's or 1990's by the chemical company that owned the property.

Speaking of oranges, there was a plantation called "Orange Grove," near Braithewaite, in St. Bernard Parish below Poydras, East Bank of river, that I visited in 1972. Tudor styling, in brick. Overgrown, deteriorating, very haunting scene. Anyone know if it's still there?

:-) Yes, I would say you two are into a conversation. I have never heard of satsuma, so I googled it to find out what it is. Sounds good. Did you two plan on wearing the same colored shirts? LOL

I never ate satsuma. You're looking good, Coleen.
