May 19: Stalking the Wild Spider

Rancho Bernardo, CA

I am frequently impressed with the excellent closeup shots of insects captured by many of you. Here on Day 4 of the fixed focus challenge I decided to pit my 50mm f/1.8 lens against my arachnophobia.

If this is too much for you, I also caught a pictue of a dead steer skull. See that ***here.*** Take your pick!

Canon EOS 20D ,Canon 50mm f/1.8
1/500s f/11.0 at 50.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

You've got to be kidding! Tell me it's not real!

Seriously Robin, what the heck is this thing? Looks like a plastic toy I used to get in the dentist office when I was a kid. (My father was my dentist back then so that should give you some idea of why I am as off kilter as I am -- plastic spiders really were one of his "prizes")

I have trouble feeling warm and fuzzy about spiders. Quarters I like.

That's a creepy looking quarter eating spider.

I see a metaphor of the spider of capitalism reaching for more and more profit :-) Or is the coin just there for sizing? Nice B&W though
