November 29: O is for Onion

Rancho Bernardo, CA


The relatives have departed and a quiet settles over the house. My sister left me with a gift; the instructions on how to make turkey soup. This morning I chopped fresh vegetables and threw in some rice to add to the stock. Now is it all simmering.

That turkey soup is a great idea. Now, in South Louisiana, we'd turn that into turkey gumbo :-)

The soup sounds like a fine idea (though I am not a fan of turkey anything except deli sandwiches) but what I can't quite figure out is that cheetoh thing next to the onion?

Robin: a confession. Looking at the thumb it appeared to be a Chee-toe (sp?) next to your onion. And I couldn't imagine what in world you were gonna do with it. Glad to hear everything is right in the universe. Enjoy that soup. Nothing better. Except alphabet soup, of course.
