Shibumi arrived home this past weekend.
Jill and I agree that this was not our best voyage. The big disappointment was weather. High winds and unsettled seas caused us to continuously modify our plans and activites. We had a good trip, but not the great journey that we have enjoyed in the past.
We are currently watching an area of weather that has us concerned about friends who are sailing further north. We spoke to Kris and Craig aboard S/V Tilt and Jim and Ann aboard S/V Bees Knees, this morning. Tilt is safely docked in St. Mary's, Georgia. Bees Knees has found safe shelter near St. Simon's Island, Georgia. We all agreed that this year's weather was worst than what any of us had experienced before. We are still trying to reach three other boats that we traveled with in the past few weeks.
Global warming? I don't know. Whatever it is, we will adapt and go out again next year. |
