We left our first night's anchorage in the Halifax River at sunrise. The temperature was 37 degrees F when I pulled the anchor this morning, but the cockpit warmed up nicely as the sun came up. We want to make it to the protected mooring fields of Vero Beach by Saturday Night. That is when more heavy weather is suppose to come in. Vero is a little far from here to do in two days... but we will see. Of more immediate concern is shoaling on the waterway near Ponce Inlet. We we get there at low tide. The shifting bottom is hard to judge after a night of heavy wind. The wind blew strong and hard last night... so Ponce will be interesting. |
