24-NOV-2006 Jill

November 24, 2006

It officially ends on December 1st, but for all intents and purposes, hurricane season 2006 is over.

I mark the end of this omnious season, each year, by retrieving the anchors I use to keep Shibumi secure, in our canal, during a big blow.

I have to pull the anchors by hand and drop them into the Porta-Bote dinghy. It is always a muddy affair that requires landing the dinghy for a good wash-down.

I also breathe a sigh of relief to mark the end of the 'season'. However, the nor'easters of winter usually cause more havoc than the summer storms :(
Glad to see you preforming this task :)

Yes, we do have to give thanks about the utter lack of hurricanes this season.

Last year you showed us the fried turkey, I was a bit disappointed and surprised
